Pornhub’s entire business model revolves around stealing content made by
sex workers without their consent and profiting off it with no
compensation to the workers who generate the content they steal.Sex
workers are an incredibly vulnerable and stigmatised class of workers, mostly women,
mostly younger, mostly not rich, with little recourse, socially or legally, against a massive
corporation like Pornhub.Pornhub relies on this, on how little you care about sex workers, to maintain a business
based on stealing their livelihoods.Stop applauding a
corporation that literally exists to steal from marginalised workers just
because they have a competent PR department.Particularly relevant right now with pornhub trying to step in and brand themselves as a new promised land.
They just want to monetize your content and you’ll sharecrop at best.

Yes the platform owner runs the infrastructure (cdn servers, software, traffic cost) and in return we provide our work free of charge. Some platforms will share a cut of there earnings with the creators. Steemit is a rather interesting take on the whole thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steemit
The site permits NSFW content but proper tagging is required. No content will ever Disappear from the steem blockchain itself but frontends like steemit or d.tube can stop displaying entries. The API is open and of course someone coul just make a different frontend that displays those entries again.
Edit: Almost forgot there’s also a video platform based on steemit tech out there https://d.tube. It uses IPFS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InterPlanetary_File_System to store the actual media files and steem serves as a directory for the meta data.
